Case Study
Caunt Road, Residential Development in Grantham
Harlaxton Engineering Services secured a contract for the provision of all three utilities to the site from Lindum Group on behalf of Longhurst and Havelock Homes.
- Affordable Homes Development
- Multi Utility Installation
- 6553 Tonnes of Contaninated & Non-Contaminated Spoil Removed from Site
- Zero of Site Inert Waste sent to Landfill
Works for Multi Utility connections including installation of Landlords supply, communal bin store and the 31 site dwellings.
Harlaxton’s recycling division assisted with the removal of over 6553 tonnes of spoil material, both contaminated and non-contaminated from the site. Avoiding the need to send the materials to landfill and allowing Harlaxton to recycle the materials to produce ECO Blox and Alternative Reinstatement Material (ARM1).
Harlaxton liaised with the former landowners to divert a private water main out of the site and installed a new 125mm barrier pipe onto the adjacent industrial estate, working around the operating hours of the industrial estate. Harlaxton Engineering Services also negotiated with the DNO to amend the HV diversion, reducing the final cost of the scheme and assisting the development avoid disruptive unnecessary works.
The nature of the site offered complex challenges that Harlaxton assisted Lindum Construction to overcome and helped keep the project on schedule. The site is situated within a pre-existing and established commercial and residential area with Harlaxton coordinating with Lindum Construction and sub-contractors to keep disruption to businesses and residents to a minimum at all times.
Harlaxton held regular meetings with the site owners, developers, planners, local authority, former land owners and sub-contractors, helping the company to build a future relationship with a major construction company.
