Case Study
Barnby Gate, Newark
Harlaxton were appointed by Westleigh Homes working in conjunction with Derwent Living, for the provision of all three utilities on a former gas works and Curry’s depot in the growing Nottinghamshire market town of Newark.
- 74 Plot Residential Development
- Former Depot and Gas Works Site
- Located Within Centre of Newark
- On and Off Site Excavations and Re-Instatement
- 3.41 Acre /1.38 Hectare Site
The 74 plot development required full Multi Utility installation to all one, two and three bedroomed properties, this included 53 affordable homes.
The site required off-site road closures to complete the installation of the Multi Utility mains. Harlaxton undertook the vast majority of these installation works over the course of a single weekend, minimising the impact of the works to the local residents and businesses in the area.
The Barnby Gate site was awarded a “Pride in the Job” award for Best Scheme by the National House Builders Council (NHBC) in September 2015, for its innovative design and delivering the need for affordable housing within Nottinghamshire.
Harlaxton are very proud to have been involved in this ‘award winning’ affordable housing scheme.
