Case Study
Watnall PV Project
Harlaxton Stations Works were appointed to undertake the bespoke design and build of a 33kv primary substation for Watnall PV Project.
- Bespoke design and build of a 33KV primary substation
Harlaxton were involved from the outset with the specific design of IDNO specification protection scheme. This allowed a smooth transition into the construction phase and the continued support and knowledge from our skilled, experienced engineers.
The 33KV station included a full suite of emergency lighting, heating, small power and sockets. This particular project was also fitted with thermostatically controlled fan and blast vents. The bespoke solution sub was fitted with a main earth bar that included a link that when opened, separated the the internal earthing from the external earthing into the scheme. This specific project was also fitted with an auxiliary transformer, to supply the local fuse board with a clean three-phase supply, as desired by Harlaxton Station Works’ clients. All HV connections at the Harlaxton warehouse and on-site were carried out by in-house specialist engineers. All works were carried out off-site, including the construction of the protection cabinets.
With all construction taking place before shipping and connection works happening on site, this allowed Harlaxton Station Works to deliver ahead of schedule and at a highly competitive price against our European/UK based competitors for the containerised substation market.
All Harlaxton Station Works’ stations are supplied with a full set of hand over documents, instructions and support. Included within the handover documents are all the test results for the LV power and switchgear.
